Circuit Prayer Event
It is our turn at Standish to host the next Circuit Prayer Event. This will be on Wednesday 27th August 7.30pm to 9.00pm and will take the form of a healing service. Please make a note of this and come along if you can.
Standish Horticultural Society Event
Standish Horticultural Society will be having their summer show and brass band concert by Standish and Coppull brass band on Saturday 30th August, here, at our church from 1.30pm. Free Admission. For more information contact Margaret Crook via this website.

Hope in Wigan 4th May
A) In two weeks time, the Hope in Wigan missions begins. This is a major campaign by the churches, with the aim of impacting the town spiritually and socially with the transforming power of God.
PLEASE don’t just let it go by without getting involved. Volunteers are needed to act as pray-ers, stewards, ushers, caterers, rubbish disposers, and to hand out flowers in various community areas in the afternoons, as a sign of God’s love. See Laurence if you can be involved in some way.
B) Secondly there are loads of events during the week of the mission. There should be some literature available today. DO PLEASE consider attending one or more event, and also prayerfully think about who you might invite along as well.
This is going to be a major event in the life of Wigan that has the potential to make a huge impact. But it all depends ON US making the most of the opportunities.
C) Thirdly, there is a significant cost involved - somewhere between £20,000 and £30,000. We need to try and raise at least £1,000 from Standish Methodist Church.
So, in two weeks time, on the 4th May, there will be a special collection for Hope in Wigan. Please pray about what contribution God might be asking you to make.
